Some Sneak Peek Teasin’

I’m grateful to say that my Z Pack of antibiotics is really kickin’ in, but it isn’t to say that I’m not still in recovery mode because I am still waxing & waning. Yesterday was the first day I got up before noon and was raring to go, but it was kind of a tease because I slept in until noon again today. Boo! This didn’t change the fact, however, that I managed to completely redo the master bedroom walls — resurfacing & sanding plus repainting them. I just think I may have pushed a little too hard and overdone it. Not to mention that Darling Hotbuns had to redo the entire wall in the kitchen where that ghastly & gruesome wallpaper was, so I could not help him with sanding (not with a DA, at least — too many clouds) because of my bronchial infection (and now there’s a thick layer of drywall dust ALL over the downstairs — so glad we spent a whole day scouring the kitchen! ::chortle::). And before you school me… Yes I DID wear a dust mask! I already got that lecture from my doc. Oookay, if it’s ordered. #kicksdirt

And before I say anything else, can I just say that DH is a gent-ly gem?! He has taken the best care of me, as well as care of Mini Maven while I rest & get my well on. He’s gotten her ready for school every morning, made her breakfast, taken her to school, helped her with her homework (which he does almost every night no matter if I’m sick or not), and even run errands for our St. Patrick’s Day traditions. #starry-eyed He has also let me sleep when I fade out, never batted an eyelash that I’ve been in sweatpants since last Friday when the fever set in, taken me to the doctor, filled my prescriptions, and taken tender-loving care of me. I just love the pants off his hotbuns!

... And this is how I know my man will be hot when he goes gray. I love a wise & dirty old man. ;)

… And this is how I know my guy will be hot when he goes gray. I love a dirty old man.  Wait! I meant WISE old man. Yeah, that. 😉

So, because I have been spending about 12 hours a night/day sleeping, and the other 12 recuperating, I have not been doing a lot of creative writing OR creative doing. Yet, while ailing, I *have* managed to knock out renovations, repairs, & refurbishes in 3 rooms. We’ve tackled the kitchen, living room, & master bedroom thus far. I can only give you some “In Progress” photos as an appetizer. Many of you have been asking for updates, but we won’t be moving furniture in or interior decorating until next month. We’re having the hardwood floors redone on the 28th, then it will be Easter weekend, & then we’re going to Seattle for Spring Break. Hence, I am going to give you a sneak peek since it’s going to be quite awhile before the big reveal. ::beam:: We have a lot of work ahead of us in this remodel with our personal upgrades, etc., and WE LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT! Darling Hotbuns & I are one in the same… We looove sinking our teeth & souls into home improvement, all the way from finding the perfect switch plates to demoing a bathroom! I assure you, it won’t stop once we’re all settled in. We will create projects where they’re not even needed. ::smirk:: I’m like your retired grandpa, “Did I hear the toaster just rattle?” “No, Gramps, the waffles just popped up. It’s fiiine! Go read the paper. PLEASE!”

Before starting any home improvement/remodel, you have to be prepared! It is critical you properly prep your surface before doing anything.

However, in the master bedroom, I like a calming sanctuary, so I used vibrant yet subdued colors: Vanilla Brandy & Drawbridge. (Obviously the fan hasn't been industrially or industriously cleaned yet. The eager beaver in me is not going to do that again until all the sanding is done.)

I put all of these up (and yes, I acknowledge my magnet positioning OCD) BEFORE we discovered we needed to sand down all the kitchen walls. I am asking for an air chuck for Easter. #blast

Keep calm & TEASE on, Mavens!
